Grammy 2019 Nominations: Cardi B, Lady Ga Ga, H.E.R, Janelle Monáe, and More

The nominations for the 61st Grammy Awards have been revealed. The nominees are smiling, laughing, and crying. Singers Janelle Monáe, Alessia Cara, and Shawn Mendes made the announcement on “CBS This Morning”. It was an emotional moment for Janelle Monáe when she found out her album “Dirty Computer” would be nominated for album of the year. Th singer was brought to tears.

Monáe said she was moved because the project is “about community” especially for the LGBT community that she is a part of. Janelle Monáe says she hopes they feel seen, celebrated and loved.

Janelle Monáe will be going against other artist in the “Album Of The Year”. Nominations for this category includes Cardi B for “Invasion Of Privacy”, Drake for ” Scorpion”, H.E.R for “H.E.R”, Post Malone for “Beerbongs & Bentleys”, Kacey Musgraves for “Golden Hour”, Brandi Carlile for “By The Way, I Forgive You, and “Black Panther: The Album” which features Kendrick Lamar.
