An estimated 4,000 Kenyan nurses are due to move to the United Kingdom (UK).
The nurses are expected to be received by UK next month.
They to fill a severe health personnel shortage left caused by UK’s exit from the European Union.
A survey by the Nursing Times in January 2021 revealed that the UK is in need of over 50,000 nurses.
The Government of Kenya is therefore demanding that Kenyan nurses to be sent to the UK must be paid the same amount that Britain’s National Health Services (NHS) pays its nurses.
However, the UK government is reportedly offering just under half of what British nurses earn.
