Some 51 Afghanistan refugees have arrived in Uganda.
The refugees, African Entertainment gathered, touched down at Entebbe International Airport aboard a private chartered flight on Wednesday morning, August 25, 2021.
The Afghans include women, children and men.
Uganda’s Foreign Ministry announced the arrival of the Afghans in a statement.
According to the statement, the Afghans are transiting through Uganda and will move on to the US and other countries.
African Entertainment understands that the Afghans were transported to Uganda after the US Government made a request to Uganda to take in some of the people fleeing the crisis in Afghanistan since the Taliban takeover.
Uganda is expected to take in some 2,000 refugees from Afghanistan.
