Aaliyah Dana Haughton was born January 16th, 1979. She started performing at a very young age. Around age 11 she sang on stage with her aunt Gladys Knight. By the time she was 12 she had been signed to a record label called Jive records and her uncle Barry Hankerson’s Blackground Records. Aaliyah went on to make hits and play leading roles in films paving the way for many young artist today. By the age of 20 Aaliyah was a common household name. According to the worldwide web there are over 30,000 babies named Aaliyah today.
Fun fact: Aaliyah was in love with Cleopetra “My favourite character to impersonate is Cleopatra. If there will be a remake of that movie I will apply for this character immediately!”
