Aniya Day photos surface the internet with her father. Each photo she is seen with a contagious smile. However, that smile wasn’t enough for her mothers love, nor were the confessions to child protective services. According to reports Aniya had been fighting for her life at the age of 4. The baby girl admitted to school officials as well as police, the abuse she endured in her mothers presence. She also unveiled the lies her mother tried to get her to tell officials.
Her father Michael Garrette screamed devastatingly in court. At the time of her death he was fighting to gain custody of his daughter. However, the system did not move fast enough to save her life.

The mother Cierra Day and her boyfriend have both been charged. Aniya was found not able to breathe due to constant blows to the head and burn bruises on her body. A copy of the 911 call shows how unwillingly the couple tried to act to save Aniya’s life. The mother reported her child had been throwing up and not eating for days but had not taken her to see a pediatrician.
