Biden Cursing on The Microphone Plus More Presidents Who Swore

Biden cursing on the microphone recently is not the first time he has been caught, and not the first president to loosen their cannon.

Dating back to our 7th president Andrew Jackson, their have been witnesses pointing out the presidential potty mouths. According to Showbiz, Jackson bought an African gray parrot, named Poll, for his wife. When the first lady died, the parrot began spending a lot of time with the president. And Poll “apparently soaked up some of the president’s choice phrases,” according to the Post.

The publication reports, “When Jackson died in 1845, thousands of people gathered to pay a final tribute — along with one talking parrot that was apparently riled up by the crowds.” One witness said that the parrot “got excited and commenced swearing so loud and long as to disturb the people.” Poll “let loose perfect guests of ‘cuss words.” Eventually, someone had to take her out of the house.

Of course, Biden cursing has not surpassed the former president, Donald Trump. According to the Times, research has shown that Trump’s use of swear words were strategic, helping his image as a truthteller unafraid of being politically incorrect.

According to the Rolling Stone, Lyndon B. Johnson was “salted with profanity” and that “few if any presidents have been quite as coarse as Johnson.” Fun Johnson fact, according to the magazine: He often spoke with Cabinet members while sitting on the toilet with the door open.

One more thing, it’s not only American Presidents that swear on the mic. In 2016, The Atlantic reported that Rodrigo Duterte, the president of the Philippines, doesn’t hesitate to swear at public officials in public settings. In May, Duterte called the pope a “son of a whore.” In June, he responded to criticism from United Nations secretary-general Ban Ki-moon by calling the organization “stupid” and threatening to withdraw “if you are that disrespectful, son of a bitch.” And this week, Duterte warned that if President Barack Obama asked him about his government’s recent extrajudicial killings, “son of a bitch, I will swear at you.”
