Can-A-Thon 2023 by 11Alive and the Salvation Army

    ATLANTA — It’s 11Alive’s favorite time of the year – Can-A-Thon!

A chance to make a real difference for families during the holidays, this year marks the 41st annual Can-A-Thon.

11Alive and The Salvation Army of Metro Atlanta invite the community to join in for the 41st anniversary of the 11Alive Holiday Can-A-Thon. Because hunger never takes a holiday, there are more opportunities to join the fight against food insecurity.

Last year we collected nearly 250,000 cans – and we’re hoping to do even better this year! Our goal for this year is to collect 300,000 cans.

If you can’t attend the drop off event on Dec. 1, starting Nov. 8 through Dec. 31, individuals can help us fight hunger from the comfort of their homes or the palms of their hands:

Track our progress below – drop-offs take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and we’ll start updating our count once the cans start coming in!

Follow along throughout Friday as we have reporters and anchors stationed at four locations throughout metro Atlanta, with the goal to make this the most successful Can-A-Thon yet.

Where can I donate cans for Can-A-Thon?

Donate in-person on Friday, Dec. 1 at the following four locations:

    • Publix Shamrock Plaza (Decatur): 3870 N Druid Hills Rd
    • Salvation Army Lawrenceville (Gwinnett): 3455 Sugarloaf Parkway
    • Salvation Army Marietta (Cobb): 202 Waterman Street, SE
    • Salvation Army Kroc Center (Fulton): 967 Dewey Street
