Celebrated Somali comedian, actor and TV host Abdi Muridi Dhere, popularly known as Ajakis, has passed away.
Tributes have since started pouring in for the comedian.
Among those who have so far paid tributes to Ajakis is Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo.
In a tweet, the state-owned Somali National TV, announced that “President @M_Farmaajo extends his heavy-hearted condolences to the family, relatives and the people of Somalia on the shock death of the popular comedian…”

Another Twitter user indicated that “Ajakis was a talented comedian who entertained the Somali people, especially the youth.”

Ajakis hosted a stand-up comedy show on Universal Somali TV, in addition to presenting a weekly satirical show where he criticized Somali politicians for their political squabbles.
