The company has reportedly laid off over 200 employees from their oak brook Illinois center. As of October 30th, 2017 these employees will be without a job. As reports have it the plan is to generate the employees from Oak Brook to other Comcast centers in areas like Florida, and Michigan. In addition to closing the call center for sales Comcast will also move 170 employees from the customer service department to a near by call center in Woodridge Illinois. To the employees of the sales department who are not able to move out of state Comcast will offer them a small package to cover their loss.

The Oak Brook facility is not owned by Comcast but has about 900 employees. The layoffs and relocations will reduce the Oak Brook workforce by about 40 percent. However, Comcast has over 7,800 employees through out Chicago land in other facilities, such as payment centers, and the Xfinity Stores. Employees are encouraged to apply outside of the center.
