Cook County beverage taxes finally come to an end. When the county announced charging taxes on beverages in August of 2017 residents were up in rage. Business owners knew that this would be detrimental to their companies. From gas stations to bars to grocery stores were all effected. Cook county residents fled to stores in Will county and Hammond Indiana to avoid the tax. This led so many companies without sustainable income and loss of jobs.
