DeadPool 3 may be set to be directed by Free Guys Shawn Levy. The film will reconnect Levy and Ryan Reynolds.
Shawn Levy has directed Big Fat Liar, Cheaper by the Dozen, the Night at the Museum series, Real Steel, Stranger Things and Free Guy.
According to reports, Levy is in talks with Marvel to direct the movie. the studio has attempted to keep many of the details under wraps. However, fans were eager to snoop in on the information.
On March 11th details of Shawn Levy’s negotiation spread.
The director currently worked on Netflix’s The Adam Project with Ryan Reynolds, and the pair collaborated on Disney’s Free Guy before that.
When asked about Deadpool 3 Ryan Reynolds said, “We pretty much talk about everything, but I’ll say this about that particular subject is I’ll have a batch of updates on that sooner rather than later, I hope. So I’ll be able to get into stuff about Deadpool a little bit more clearly and definitively down the road.”
Marvel’s Kevin Feige revealed it is set internally at Marvel studios. “We do,” Feige said when asked about a tentative release date.
“And the script is in the works and Ryan is working very hard on it with our writers as we speak,” he continued.
Naming Levy as the film’s director would mark a massive step toward getting Deadpool 3 made.
After the news broke that Shawn Levy would direct Deadpool 3, Ryan Reynolds took to Twitter to celebrate.
He shared an image of the characters from his three Levy films — Wade Wilson from Deadpool, Guy from Free Guy, and Big Adam from The Adam Project — walking together in the woods.
In the caption, the actor joked, “The third film in my Shawn Levy trilogy will be a tad more stabby.”
