Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz has become Instagram’s most-followed celebrity in East Africa with 12 million followers.
The Wasafi star confirmed his latest milestone days ago with an Instagram post thanking his teeming fans for their support.
“Thank You, 12,000,000 Followers, On @instagram 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 @diamondplatnumz Has The Most Instagram Followers In East Africa #WCB4LIFE,” Platnumz tweeted.
Interestingly, this will be one of the increasing numbers of record Platnumz has broken in recent times. In 2020, the star singer whose real name is Chibu Dangote became the first Sub-Saharan music star to garner over one billion views on his YouTube channel.
Recently, his subscribers hit 4.99 million, another milestone that saw him rank in the list of Sub-Saharan celebrities with the highest YouTube subscribers.
