Ghanaian dancehall artist, Stonebwoy, has stated that some recent donations to veteran Ghanaian actor, Psalm Adjeteyfio, popularly known as Uncle TT were just “for clouts.”

Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as earlier reported by African Entertainment, went to the rescue of Psalm Adjeteyfio.

Mr Adjeteyfio or TT of Taxi Driver fame had recently cried out in a recent viral video about his challenges with paying his house rent. He lamented how he was depending on donations for survival.

Following the video, the Vice President paid the actor’s rent for the next five years.

Dr Bawumia, African Entertainment gathered, paid Ghc 30,000 towards the rent and Ghc 20,000 for Mr Adjeteyfio’s upkeep.

Also, the Greater Accra Regional Minister and Member of Parliament for Ayawaso Central Constituency, Henry Quartey, donated Ghc 1,500 monthly of his Parliamentary salary for the next four years to Uncle TT.

But in a post on social media, Stonebwoy expressed the belief that the royalty system in Ghana’s entertainment industry should be fixed so artists can be able to take care of themselves, especially in their old age.

He described as unfortunate, the situation where artists are not able to cater for themselves despite creating so much creative contents.

“Does this simply mean that we are headed to donation? After working so hard from your youthful age to your adulthood entertaining your country, in your old age you become a charity case? Let’s fix the royalty system,” his post sighted by African Entertainment read.

Psalm Adjeteyfio was born 1948. He remains one of Ghana’s finest movie stars.
