Everton have left reigning English Champions, Liverpool, virtually devastated following their first victory at Anfield in 31 years.
The Toffees had never won at Anfield since 1990.
But they turned the tide around for the better on Saturday evening, February 20, 2021, as they outclassed ‘The Reds’ with a stunning 2-0 win at Anfield.
Brilliant Richarlison gave Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton side the lead in the third minute.
Liverpool pushed for an equalizer for the most part of the game until Sigurosson wrapped up everything with his spot kick finish in the 83rd minute.
The result means Liverpool are now 16 points behind league leaders, Manchester City, and is becoming increasingly clear that they cannot defend their title.
I wouldn’t say that Everton have been exceptional but Liverpool seem to have none of the fast movement going forward and pressing out of possession that they’ve become known for under Klopp.
