Ghana is expected to begin its ambitious Agenda 111 hospital projects.
President Akufo-Addo is scheduled to cut sod for the commencement of the projects on Thursday, August 17, 2021.
Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, announced this to the media during a press conference held at the Information Ministry in Accra on Sunday, August 15, 2021.
Mr Akufo-Addo is to cut sod for the Atwima Kwanwoma District Hospital, marking the official commencement the Agenda 111 hospital projects.
Under the Agenda 111 programme, Government is to construct 88 district hospitals across Ghana’s 16 regions.
The pledge to construct the hospitals was made in 2020 by Mr. Akufo-Addo during the peak of the coronavirus. The move, he said at the time, was to help address the infrastructural gap in Ghana’s health sector.
