In 2019 Kylie sold 51% of Kylie Cosmetics to publicly traded Coty, Inc. in January 2019 for $600 million; she pocketed $540 million, pretax. Documents later showed the business was much smaller than the family claimed for years, leading her to lose her billionaire title. Kylie Cosmetics, which had 2019 revenue of $200 million, was built on the back of a social media following that reaches more than 175 million people. Jenner used $250,000 of her earnings from modeling to pay an outside company for her first 15,000 lip kits, which sold out in minutes in 2015. One of the family stars on “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” Jenner remains in charge of creative efforts and marketing for Kylie Cosmetics, according to Forbes.
Fast forward to 2020, Kylie is now named the highest paid celebrity for the year.
According to E! News, Kylie Jenner in the world earned a combined of USD 6.1 billion in 2020 with Kylie Jenner and Kanye West at the top of the list. With so much controversy with accuracy of Kylie’s earning history with Forbes, the financial experts calculated her earning this year to be at USD 590 million after she sold a majority of her beauty brand’s stake to Coty Inc.
Kanye wasn’t falling too far behind her. Ye came in at No. 2, on the list by making USD 170 million was American rapper and record producer Kanye West, who is also coincidentally Kylie’s brother-in-law. The aspiring politician has his Adidas partnership to thank for this hefty payday.
Coming in at number three is Gal Gaddot. With Wonder Woman 1984 on ice, Gadot turned to Netflix, collecting $20 million for her role in Red Notice. It’s a steep price, insiders say, but a tiny part of the streamer’s $17 billion content budget.
