Is the Nick Cannon Talk show being cancelled? According to the celeb news, the ratings for the show have not shown improvement.
The show has been airing for 6 months, with a lot of popular guests like Nelly, Kevin Hart, and most recently Cynthia Bailey.
Sources say that staff at the nationally syndicated show have yet to be informed. But we’re told many of them were already looking for new jobs because the outlook seemed bleak for the struggling show.
The star snagged the gig in 2020 after impressing producers with his daytime talents when he filled in for Wendy Williams during her long absence due to ill health.
There was even talk of Cannon’s show replacing Williams’s if her health meant it had to come off the air permanently. However, news broke recently that Sherrie Shepherd would be airing herself titled talk show in place of Wendy Williams.
“OMG! I am so excited to have my dream come true and debut my very own talk show SHERRI in the fall. I can’t wait until I return to NY to host the show and merge everything, I love…pop culture, talk, entertainment and comedy. I am thankful to Debmar-Mercury and FOX for partnering with me on this show and look forward to this new journey,” Shepherd said in a statement.
The data for the Nick Cannon show calculated at just 400,000 viewers, making it the lowest rated talk show at the time, according to Celebrity 411. Williams’s show averages 600,000.
The strategy for the airing was that the “Wendy Williams Show” — which aired immediately before his show — was supposed to provide an audience boost that less-popular reruns wouldn’t.
The details of the talks show cancellation aired via celeb news on PageSix, and also comes as Season 7 of The Masked Singer premieres with Nick Cannon as the host.
