Jake Paul’s weight versus component Hasim Rahman Jr. caused for a cancellation of his latest fight. But not due to Jake Paul. The 6 feet and 1 inch influencer turned boxer typically weighs between 190 to 210 lbs.
Hasim, who previously fought at heavyweight, weighing more than 260 pounds was set to lose the weight. But unfortunately, MVP says Hasim had lost less than one pound since signing the contract for the fight more than 3 weeks ago.
Due to Rahman’s weight the fight with Paul was cancelled.
Paul vs. Rahman Jr. was set to go down August 6 at Madison Square Garden in NYC … but just one week before the highly anticipated scrap, Most Valuable Promotions announced the fight was off.
In Boxin terms Jake Paul’s weight is referred to cruiserweight. This means a professional boxer has to weigh between 175 and 200 pounds.
According to Britannica, there were traditionally eight weight divisions in men’s boxing. More divisions were added, and professional governing bodies now recognize a total of 17 weight classes, which had their current names established by the major boxing organizations in 2015.
For the most recent fight Paul and Rahman agreed to fight in at 200 lbs.
But Rahman was 14 to 15 lbs heavier.
He also stated the weigh in was too early. Why am I weighing in 2, and 3 weeks before the fight Daniel? I didn’t even get a chance to hit the scale on 8/5 like the contract said. How the fight off on me when THEY cancelled the event.
