Kanye West may have fans waiting with bated breath for his new album ‘Donda,’ but it appears he has more pressing matters to tend to.
Like changing his name legally.
Per TMZ, the rapper has formally filed documents to have his name changed from his birth name Kanye Omari West to Ye – his longtime nickname.
He’s also angling to drop the “West” entirely. Meaning, if approved, he’d be a mononym moving forward.
The star’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian-West has opted to keep the name post their split, meaning she’d be a West when Ye, well, wouldn’t.
