According to entertainment commentator and TV presenter Phil Mphela, Kelly is the first South African to grace the cover of Classique magazine.
However, there have been few concerns raised on Twitter about the pictures used for the cover.
Muhehi tweeted: “Someone decided to paint her pitch-black because her natural color is UnAfrican. Europeans. ”
@Joliciosness: “I don’t think she truly approved of this color after she dyed her skin, unappreciated black skin child.”
Clearing things up, Phil tweeted: “Please do your own research before jumping on a bandwagon. Classique didn’t put Kelly in this makeup. These visuals are from her Empini promotional material and video. Thank you.”
