Larry King Show Host Larry King Covid 19 Who is Larry King

Larry King has reportedly been hospitalized from Covid 19. King started his career as a radio interviewer in the 60’s. By 1978 King was becoming a household name hosting The Larry King Show, an all-night nationwide call-in radio program heard on the Mutual Broadcasting System.

The show became so popular that it revamped it’s name and began to air on national television. Most of the later generations are familiar with Larry King via CNN.

In 2010 EW listed some of the most memorable interviews conducted by Larry King, many in which include big name celebrities like The Beatles, Snoop Dogg, Mariah Carey, Marlon Brando,  and more.

His interviews were diverse as they not only covered celebrities but major moments in history. For example,  after the tragic earthquake in Haiti January of 2010, King organized an all-star telethon to help the relief effort and netted almost $10 million. Mick Jagger, Jennifer Lopez, Ringo Starr, Seal, Ben Stiller, and many more were on hand. For the cause, Larry even auctioned off his suspenders!

Larry King also covered the O.J Simpson chase. Connie Britton played the role of Faye Resnick in ” The People VS O.J Simpson: American Crime Story”. Britton spoke about meeting Larry King saying how much of a Faye fan he was.

“Apparently Larry was a very big fan of Faye’s, telling Connie, “Faye was a very sexy woman. Very, very flirtatious.” Connie speculated that he may have even known Faye “biblically.” Regardless, Connie’s performance so resembled the real Faye that it got Larry excited, to the point where Connie was a “little nervous.”

Immediately after Connie and Larry finished shooting their scene, Larry shouted to the crew, “Somebody get us a room!” Better yet, somebody remind Larry about the difference between fiction and reality.”

Larry king also interviewed Chadwick Boseman, known as The Black Panther, Chadwick gained his wings iconically in 2020 from his fight with cancer.

In the 2018 interview during a segment called “If You Only Knew,” Larry King asked Boseman what superpower he wished he had in real life. Boseman leaned back in his chair, eyes glistening, and he said without hesitation, “I wish I could freeze time.” Prompted by King’s surprised reaction, Boseman offered a mild elaboration saying, “Stop time and move around and do stuff and then come back and…*sigh*…yeah.”

Last year, King lost two of his five children within weeks of each other. Son Andy King died of a heart attack at 65 in August, and daughter Chaia King died from lung cancer at 51 in July, Larry King said then in a statement.

He has had medical issues in recent decades, including heart attacks and diagnoses of diabetes and lung cancer.
