“It felt like a very fitting amalgamation of our whole story.”
Mandy Moore and Taylor Goldsmith just welcomed their first child, August Harrison Goldsmith, and when they were thinking about baby names, they didn’t just look at a list for inspiration.
They put a lot of thought and care into baby Gus’ name, as Mandy shared on Instagram, where she explained the meaning behind it.
And it’s so sweet: “It was last August when @taylordawesgoldsmith and I found out we were having a boy (it’s also Taylor’s birth month) and we always loved the name,” Mandy shared. “So it was settled very early on in our book.”
But the first and last letters of August’s name also hold a special meaning for the music artists. “For our anniversary in November, T gifted me with this blanket with the ‘A’ (for Amanda) made from extra material from my wedding dress and ‘T’ (for Taylor) from his wedding shirt,” she explained.
“[It] felt like a very fitting amalgamation of our whole story,” Mandy wrote, adding, “I can’t wait to pass this on to our sweet August one day. 💙💙💙💙”
Just yesterday Mandy announced August’s arrival with the very cute first look at him. “He was punctual and arrived right on his due date, much to the delight of his parents,” she wrote on Instagram. “We were prepared to fall in love in all sorts of brand new ways, but it goes beyond anything we could have ever imagined.”
