Master P and LeBron James Shares Important Parenting Advice During Their Sons’ AAU Tournament

Master P and Lebron James are dropping knowledge about fatherhood.

The two legends, who both seem to be very involved with their childrens’ lives, had a brief conversation about the significance of their roles as fathers. The dads who are both fathers of sons who play basketball, sat courtside next to each other on Sunday, July 18, in North Augusta, South Carolina, as they watched their boys play in the Nike Elite Basketball League AAU hoops showcase that brought together some of the top high school talent in the nation.

The video, uploaded Thursday to Instagram by Master P, began with him saying, “He spend time with his kids, I spend time with my kids. You can’t get time back.” He continued with LeBron agreeing in the background, “You can get money back. I feel like for me as a father all my heart pour into this.” James picked up after Master P, saying, “It’s just time, like you said. Presence and time. When they see you around they know you care.”

“They know you love them,” Master P added. “It’s about love and we going be there to help them to get better. We know all the stuff we had to go through to get to where we at. It’s not gon’ be easy. All I want for my kids is opportunity. I’m going to keep pushing them and showing them work ethic. You got to work hard for this.”

At the end of the video, Master P congratulated James on starring in the “Space Jam: A New Legacy” movie while giving him a handshake. Fans applauded and chimed in on Master P and James’ message.

One person said, “Man! This needs to be broadcasted! “You can get money back, but you can’t get time back” being there for our children is the most important thing in the world.” Someone else said, “THIS IS CONTENT WE NEED TO SEE 24/7,” and another person wrote, “FAthers about their bag while still showing up and putting their kids first 🙌❤️! Please normalize!”

Master P, born Percy Miller, is the father of nine children. He has five sons — one of them being Romeo Miller — and four daughters. Recently Master P helped his second son, Hercy Miller, get a $2 million endorsement deal before he heads off to play basketball for Tennessee State. This comes after the NCAA recently changed its rules to allow student-athletes to make money off of their name and image. Master P was watching his son Mercy Miller’s JL3 AAU team compete in South Carolina.

James, on the other hand, has three children: LeBron “Bronny” James Jr., 16, Bryce Maximus James, 14, and daughter Zhuri, 6. Bronny James is following in his dad’s footsteps and playing basketball with his Sierra Canyon High School team. He made his sophomore debut last month with both his dad and rapper Drake in attendance. Bronny’s Strive for Greatness AAU team was in action last weekend in South Carolina.
