The Saudi-led consortium £300 million takeover of English Premier League club, Newcastle United, has been completed.
The takeover has brought to an end Mike Ashley’s 14-year ownership of Newcastle United.
On Thursday night, October 7, 2021 there was excitement on Tyneside as several Newcastle United fans celebrated the takeover.
With the take over, some persons at Newcastle United including head coach Steve Bruce are expected to lose their jobs.

Director of Newcastle United, Amanda Staveley, has told the British press that the long-term ambition for Newcastle United is to top the Premier League after the club’s takeover was completed on Thursday.
According to her, “Newcastle United deserves to be top of the Premier League. We want to get there. It will take time, but we will get there.”
