Nicki Minaj imitates Adele on Carpool Karaoke with James Corden. However, this isn’t the first time we realized how much the two adore each other.
During an interview with Entertainment tonight in 2019 Nicki Minaj was asked about collaborating with Adele. She joked, yes, yes, yes.
“But, Adele made me swear to secrecy that I’m not allowed to tell anyone that I’m working with her, and we already shot a video, and it’s an epic song,” Minaj added.
Fans were excited about the rumor until Nicki shut it down. After the buzz circulated, Minaj took to social media to explain the truth.
“Omg guys. I thought everyone could clearly see I was being sarcastic. S–t!”
Nevertheless, we would end up getting the collaboration we never knew we needed with James Cordon Carpool Karaoke.

Adele had originally performed Onika’s Monster in 2016.
During Onika’s Carpool Karaoke, the Barb began speaking in her British accent out of nowhere, like she typically does.
Corden asked her, where does this British accent come from?
Nicki Petty said, it’s motivational speaking. Then he says, you know you just sound like Adele.
She maintains her Adele accent, by saying, “I know.”
At that moment the Carpool Karaoke host says, “give me your best Adele impression.”
Then Nicki says in her best Adele voice, ” I go viral for basically anything.”
True to Adele.
Nicki said that Adele performing ‘Monster’ made her so happy.
“She embodied Nicki Minaj.”
