WEST SIDE, Manhattan (WABC) — A man has died after being stabbed right near a pair of New York City landmarks at Pier 84 in Manhattan.
Pier 84 is in between the Intrepid and the Circle Line sightseeing boats on the West Side.
The NYPD responded to the pier just before 6 a.m. Thursday.
A 35-year-old man was found on the pier with a stab wound to the chest.
He was rushed to Mount Sinai Morningside where he was later pronounced dead.
According to police sources, both the suspect and victim were sitting on a bench when they got into a verbal dispute.
The suspect stabbed the victim in the chest and fled the scene.
It’s unclear whether the two knew each other prior to the stabbing.
So far there are no arrests.
The investigation into the stabbing is ongoing.
