R. Kelly’s daughter describes her life growing up With R. Kelly. Joann Kelly known as Buku Abi, had spoken to TMZ a few months back about her father. However, at the time of the interview she did not have much to say. Joann stated to TMZ in April that she didn’t have much to say about her father. She also stated that it was hard to talk about her father because her family matters. She mentioned to TMZ that she felt terrible.
Most recently, the “Surviving R. Kelly” document has been airing on television. Joann Kelly has decided to break her silence in wake of the documentary. The daughter of R. Kelly recently shared to Instagram that she and her family have not had any relationship with Kelly for years. Joann Kelly stated, “Going through all I have gone through in my life, I would never want anyone to feel the pain I have felt. The same monster you all confronting me about is my father. I am well aware of who and what he is. I grew up in that house.”
Joann Kelly has not been the only family member explaining family issues. R. Kelly’s brother has also spoken out. Carey Kelly, stated that he and R. Kelly grew up in a home of sexual abuse. Their sister would make them perform oral sex with her and rape them.
We knew that R. Kelly had a troubling life as a kid. However, it looks as though this family curse of abuse continues to be an ongoing cycle.
