Ray J Norwood left his fans and followers a bit perplexed on Thursday, Aug. 12, after he sent his wife, Princess Love, well-wishes in honor of their fifth wedding anniversary. What was mind-boggling to many — aside from the black-and-white image shared from that special day and the heartfelt message — was that the couple was still together.
The pair who called off their divorce for the second time earlier this year has encountered a lot of drama during their five years of marriage, mostly stemming from alleged infidelity on Norwood’s part. Both Love and Norwood filed for divorce in 2020. Love initially filed first in July then ultimately put a request to dismiss it. “The “Moesha” star followed suit by filing for divorce later that year.
The father of two wrote in the initial Instagram story, “Happy Anniversary,” alongside three red heart emojis. He continued by tagging what appeared to have been Love’s Instagram handle but was ultimately confirmed to be a fan page while saying, “5 Years Today. I Love You 4 Life.”
When Norwood’s upload become viral, many were shocked to hear that the couple made it to five years following all of the public drama between the two. One Instagram user pointed out that despite the reality star’s sweet gesture toward Love, the model didn’t return the favor.
“thought they were done?”
“Oh I thought they were divorced. Congratulations to them.”
“Only he posted this tho 😂😂.”
“Sooo are they together together or together apart ? 😩.”
“I thought they broke up😂.”
In April, Norwood gave fans a slight update on his marriage with Love when he appeared on “The Wendy Williams Show.” He told the daytime talk show host that he’s open to having more children with his wife. Love initially proposed the idea publicly months prior during a “Love & Hip Hop” special called “Secrets Unlocked,” with their divorce pending at the time.
Norwood said while he talked about his other two children Melody, 3, and 1-year-old Epick that he shares with Love, “Yea man, I love my kids. It’s a complete 360 degree when you have kids; well at least it’s supposed to be. So having one more is just like wow.” As for Love and having additional children, he said, “If she can do the nine months, I can do my time.”
