Rihanna’s afro is making headlines along with her Savage x Fenty Volume 4 show. The new has been hyping up the internet leading up to November 9th, the day Savage X Fenty streams. But outside of the sexy lingerie Rihanna really rocked fans with stunning photos of her afro centric hairstyle. However, this is not the first time she shook the community with natural beauty.

During an interview for Vogue’s May 2020 issue Robyn Fenty rocked the Betsimisaraka hairstyle. These are afro styled puffed ponytails. According to African Beauty and Braids, the hairstyle is so iconic because the Madagascar was discovered by women. Tropical and serene, this island is located off the east coast of Africa. The natives that inhabit the land carry Indonesian genes. A vessel arrived 1200 years ago on the island holding 30 women. It is a possibility that they sailed off course. Extensive DNA studies have traced today’s residents to these 30 women, who probably mated with African men who were already there. Indonesia and Madagascar have a distance of 5000 miles. So, their trip across the Indian Ocean was quite a lengthy one.

Rihanna’s afro style was also spotted in L.A as she attended her god daughter and niece Majesty’s birthday party with family.

She attended wearing a Jeremy Scott flintstone dress. She also popped out that weekend rocking her afro in a dress featuring artwork by Greg Guillemin, who specializes in pop art illustrations.

Let’s not forget about Rihanna’s blue afro for the movie Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, alongside Cara Delevingne and Dane DeHaan.

Six years ago, a photo if Rihanna shocked the internet. The now 34-year-old appeared in a black and white photo sporting an afro and some cultural style necklaces.
