Riverdale Police Officer Throws Mom By Her Hair Ripping Out Her Braids

A Riverdale Police Officer is under fire for grabbing a mother by her hair and throwing her to the grown, ripping a bald spot into the middle of her head.

36 year old Angela Coleman was enjoying her day back at home after having to leave her house for days due to a tornado in Illinois that left thousands without power. The single mother and her children, including her older son Martize Starks a high school graduate were trying to settle into their home on August 18th. Angela allowed her daughters to walk to Star Groceries, a local grocery store to grab some extra snacks after having to throw away tons of food since her homes power had been out for over three days.

What Angela and her family didn’t expect was to walk into trouble. On the way to the store her daughter and her daughters friend were approached by other teens in a confrontational manner that led into a fight. As Angela and her son Martize rushed to break up the fight, officers showed up.

However, at the time Officers approached Angela Coleman and her son Martize had gotten the teen fight under control in effort to help both parties. Yet the Riverdale police officer who has been identified as Officer Mooney decided to rally up the fight. As the officer walked up to the mother and her son he yelled “that’s enough, that’s enough” but no one was fighting at the time. The officer then snatched Angela Coleman by her hair and threw her. In shock of what was happening, her son Martize attempted to explain to the Riverdale Police officer that he grabbed the wrong person. Instead of the officer listening to him, officer Mooney grabbed Martize by his neck and yelled “you’re going into the ditch.”

The mother reached out to an attorney for legal help and also contacted the Riverdale police station.  Riverdale police chief Demik was set to start an investigation on the incident but never showed up the investigation appointment that was scheduled at the mothers home. Her attorney Danielle Pinkston has also reached out to the Riverdale police department but has not received any response. It has been more than 5 days.

Angela spoke out about the incident saying, “I feel embarrassed. I’m hurt. My feelings are really hurt from this. I could of died the way he threw me.”
