Rapper Sarkodie has pleaded with the Accra Circuit Court to pardon Ghanaian comedy actress, Akuapem Poloo.
Akuapem Poloo was on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, remanded into police custody for allegedly publishing a nude photo of herself and her son. She has also been charged with domestic violence.
The photo was shared online in 2020, causing legal problems for the actress. She is expected to be sentenced on Friday, April 16, 2021, after her pregnancy test.
But Sarkodie has pleaded for justice to be tempered with mercy.
In his tweet sighted by African Entertainment, he said “I think it’s a little harsh to separate a child from the mum just because of pictures”.
He added “… would want to plead with the law to pardon our sister.”

Several Ghanaians, including celebrities, have been campaigning for Akuapem Poloo to be freed. An online campaign with the hashtag #FreeAkuapemPoloo, has been trending since Wednesday when she remanded into police custody.
Actress Lydia Forson, musician Efya, among others, are leading the campaign to get convict Akuapem Poloo released.
Akuapem Poloo is one actress notorious for nudity in a Ghanaian society that apparently frowns upon naturism.
But now, she risks serving a jail time of up to three years.
