Serena Williams Mom and Daughter Steals The Show
Recently the 23-time Grand Slam champion and Venture capitalist Serena Williams‘ announced her farewell to tennis.
During her interview with Vogue she said, “Believe me, I never wanted
to have to choose between tennis and a family. I don’t think it’s fair. If I were a guy, I wouldn’t be writing this because I’d be out there playing and winning while my wife was doing the physical labor of expanding our family,” she wrote. “Maybe I’d be more of a Tom Brady if I had that opportunity.”
As a mom, she has noted that she feels it’s time to shift her priorities.
Despite making one of the hardest decisions of her life, she believes she’s ready for the transition because when it comes to being a mom, Williams said, “I think I’m good at it, but I want to explore if I can be great at it.”
Fans and other sport heroes filled the stage to watch Serena Williams as she embarks on new journeys in life. Tiger Woods, Zendaya, and Dionne Warwick attended to name a few.
On Wednesday night as she won, 7-6(4) 2-6, 6-2, outlasting Anett Kontaveit of Estonia, the world’s second-ranked player, an opponent who, like Williams, loves nothing more than blasting tennis balls as she tries to overwhelm whoever is standing on the other side of the net.
As her daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian snapped photos of her mom in the crowd, she also paid homage. The 5-year-old sported similar braids to her mom and aunt during their beginnings. She also dawned in a black sparkled suit matching Serena. But her cuteness with grandma also got noticed.
As Olympia jr. showed off her lollipop to her dad, Alexis Ohanian, no sooner did Oracene Price, Serena Williams mom and daughter lean into conversation.
Olympia smiled while talking to her grandmother. But then turned around in attentiveness. The vibe gave the pay attention, this is important moment. Needless to say, Olympia understood the assignment.
