Shonda Rhimes Reacts to ‘Station 19’ Cancellation – The Music news

Shonda Rhimes shared a heartfelt message following the news that Station 19 will be coming to an end.

ABC revealed on Friday that the upcoming seventh season of the Grey’s Anatomy spinoff will be its last. The series follows the firefighters at Firehouse Station 19 in Seattle, Washington.

“Grateful for an unforgettable run,” the show’s executive producer wrote on Instagram. “A heartfelt salute to the exceptional cast whose brilliance brought the characters to life and to the viewers who continued to make it possible! Thank you for the magic, the moments, and the memories. #station19.”

Rhimes also shared photos of the cast in full firefighter gear from set, including Jason George, Grey Damon and Jaina Lee Ortiz.

Station 19 executive producer and director Peter Paige also took to X, formerly Twitter, on Saturday to share his thoughts and show his appreciation for the show’s cast and crew.

“Well, yesterday was pretty surreal: #Station19 coming to an end, and #GoodTrouble cancelled. Not a great day – still wrapping my head around the news,” he wrote. “These shows (along with #TheFosters) have been my home and my family for the more than the last decade.”

Paige co-created Good Trouble, which will also end with the second half of its upcoming fifth season, Freeform announced Friday.

“I’ve been surrounded by such talented, good, kind people who really believe in using the power of TV to make the world a better place,” Paige continued. “There are not words to express how these shows have changed me, nor for my gratitude. My love to the casts, the writers, the crews, everyone at Shondaland, the people from the networks who supported the shows, and especially the fans – none of this would have been possible without all of you. Thank you.”
