Smile movie spoiler alert! We are going to let you rate it yourself, but just so you know there were like four endings at the end of the movie. The synopsis of the movie is very Halle Berry Gothica like but ends more dramatic.
After witnessing a bizarre, traumatic incident involving a patient, Dr. Rose Cotter starts experiencing frightening occurrences that she can’t explain. The smile spirit of the patients ends up taunting her. The spirit in the movie is passed on to people who have experienced trauma. But if a person has not experienced trauma the goal of the spirit is to make sure they do. Cotter attempts to work with several people to find a resolution to escaping the taunting experiences.
In order to survive Dr. Rose Cotter, the man character of the Smile movie must confront her troubling past in order to survive and escape her horrifying new reality.
Each person effected by the spirit ends up committing suicide by the 4th day. Most of the movie details each character’s life days prior to their fate.
After Dr. Rose Cotter begins experiencing the taunting spirit, she is forced to face her traumatic life changes, which involve her deceased mother.
In order to face her fate and/or trauma she goes to her moms’ home.
At the now, abandon home she faces the demon, who appears in the form of her mother. But with her strong will to survive she releases her frustration towards the shadow of her mother as opposed to inflicting herself.
But that does not destroy the spirit. Eventually, the spirit reveals itself as a full-blown demon. The therapist ends up attempting the fight the demon heads on, which turns out to involve several mental illusions throughout their battle.
Her mental trips end up in repetitions of an ongoing battle, which eventually passed the spirit on to one of her longtime friends.
If you are planning to see the Smile movie with children, we urge you to stay mindful of the suicidal attempts. Profanity also used.
