    Student hit by car at bus stop | Cobb County

    Here’s what we know.

    COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A middle school student was hit by a car at a bus stop in Cobb County Tuesday morning, according to the police department.

    Authorities said it happened at the intersection of Post Oak Tritt Road and Bennington Drive shortly before 8:45 a.m.

    Cobb County Police said its selective traffic enforcement unit investigated the incident. During their preliminary investigation, officers said an 11-year-old girl was attempting to cross the road outside of a pedestrian crossing.

    Authorities said the girl was struck by the driver of a Honda.

    Officers previously said the child is “alert and conscious” but does have leg pain. In an update, Cobb County Police said the girl was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital seriously hurt.

    The driver of the Honda was not injured, police said.

    At this time, it’s unclear which school the child attended.
