    Support us to deliver a robust and efficient land administration to Ghanaians 


     

     

    The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources,  Samuel A. Jinapor, has asked management and staff of the Lands Commission to as a matter of urgency ensure a robust land administration anchored on integrity, for the benefit of all Ghanaians.

    Speaking at the Durbar with Staff of the Commission, today, 1st September, 2021, the Minister said the country cannot make progress with weak and ineffective land administration. He entreated the management and staff of the Commission to work diligently to help achieve the developmental agenda of the Government.

     

    He added that the government is committed to digitizing the records of the Lands Commission to facilitate efficient land administration and registration and charged the Commission to see to the full implementation of this transformative policy.

     

    The Minister also admonished the Commission to work hard to protect public lands. He noted that public lands are held in trust for the people, and must be utilised in ways that will be beneficial to the people of Ghana. He advised the Commission to desist from wanton dissipation of public lands.

    On his part, the Ag. Executive Secretary of the Lands Commission, Mr. James E. Dadson said, the focus of merging the four divisions and the introduction of a new search system to eliminate controversies on land administration will commence today,September 1st and be fully operationalized by October 1st, 2021. He applauded the Minister for inaugurating all 16 Regional Lands Commissions and added that a Regional Operations Unit has been set up at the Head office to deal with issues from the various regions and ensure standardisation in all operations of the Commission.

     

    Staff of the Commission had the opportunity to interact with the Minister, raising several questions relating to their welfare. The Minister promised to work with the Management of the Commission to ensure that their concerns are fully addressed.
