I just turned 50 and I mean, I hadn’t said it yet, but it didn’t work out. I tried. I was like, therapy. Let’s do the therapy thing, but if you’re both not on the same page with that then you feel like you’re taking it on yourself and that’s not a fair position for anybody to play in a relationship.”Taraji has been long time with standing for mental clarity especially in the black community. In May of 2019 Henson posted about her mental health foundation, The Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation. The foundation focuses on mental health issues and overcoming. In April, when Covid hit the foundation shifted it’s focus on healing through the pandemic.Taraji along with the foundation held open conversations about children surviving through the pandemic and domestic abuse. On October 5th Taraji also spoke about getting the greenlight from Facebook Watch to launch her own mental health talk show, title “Peace Of Mind”.As news broke about her split, the “Peace of Mind” co host and best friend Tracie Jade Jenkins spoke to the Breakfast Club about Taraji’s split and the effect of break ups with mental health.Trauma impacts intimate relationship they stated. “You have to show up and yes you have to be understanding, but you can’t lose yourself in that understanding. Relationship’s take work and it takes both sides to really be there. It’s selfless.”
