Teyana Taylor aka the Firefly wowed judges Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong, and Nicole Scherzinger. Taylor performed Judge; Robin Thicke’s own “Lost Without U”.
During her performance, McCarthy stated, she came to win. The crowd’s reaction to Taylors vocals were astounding. The camera caught a couples kiss during the performance as well.
As for Judge Thicke hearing someone sing his song, He stood in ovation. As Nick Cannon announced Teyana as the winner, she stated “it feels so good to win this”.
“I was so passionate from day 1. I think it’s because of my journey with music. I was like this could really be simple. Where I could just sing without politics and judgement. I think that’s why it was such an emotional journey. I wanted to win every single round. I had the jitters”.
Teyana also joked about the Firefly costume, saying it was heavy. However, she also mentioned how the character brought out confidence and sex appeal. ” I was already backstage trying to figure out how I was going to create Firefly her own comic book”.
The Masked Singer female win also included Kandi Burruss, Leann Rhimes, and Jewel.
