    The Honey Pot Co Bad Reviews Due To Black Girl Statement

    The Honey Pot Co CEO Beatrice Dixon is receiving backlash for her Target commercial, for saying she wants to inspire the next black girl. The Honey Pot co is a plant base feminine care line with over thousands of buyers. In the commercial  the CEO talks about how Target was one of the few companies that gave The Honey Pot a chance at selling in major stores.

    Beatrice continues to mention how the company almost fell apart. Towards the end of the Target commercial Beatrice says, the reason why it’s so important for The Honey Pot Co to do well is so the next black girl that comes up with a great idea, she can have a better opportunity, that means a lot for me.

    White women are calling her comments as racist. The group of women became so furious that they started rating the companies on line as bad, without even trying the product. The furious group did not just include women. Men were also partaking in the bad rating although the product is only a feminine product.

    Comments flooded, saying

    “Denoting products as being about/for one particular race is just wrong. I will not purchase any of these products. This should be for all women. What are you telling young girls of any other race?”

    “Wish it was inclusive for all children but thanks to your poor choice of words I’ll be spending my money elsewhere. Target this is not okay, Brands should be picking everyone up not just one race ! If your not looking to be all inclusive what’s the point of your brand ?”

    “I received a bottle of one of the honey pot cleansers in my BUMP box subscription my husband bought for me during my pregnancy, I thought the product was just alright… then I saw the commercial where the founder of the company stated that it’s to empower black women- not ALL women, only black women… it made me feel that the company is not only racist but small minded and not worth purchasing, I will tell all my friends and anyone who asks that the products are not worth purchasing… very disappointed in the company and founder.”

    However, the negative comments began to be over flooded by positive support. Commentators went on to say,

THE BEST THING IS ITS BLACK OWNED!!! I would definitely recommend spending your money on the honeypot products its quality vaginal and period care sistas!

    The list of positive comments have flooded the site so much that the 5 star ratings are more than 17 pages long.

    The commercial for this product was ran during Black History month to support and celebrate the Black owned Companies. Neither Target nor The Honey Pot has released an apology as the product never stated that it should be used by only Black women, but that they hope to encourage many to becoming black business owners.
