The Show Written By Malia Obama and Donald Glover Reflects The Hive

We’ve got details on the show written by Malia Obama and Donald Glover.

Details of a show written by Malia Obama and Donald Glover was unveiled around March of this year.

Glover spoke about hiring Barack Obama’s oldest daughter in 2021. “Her writing style is great,” he told Vanity Fair. “She’s just like, an amazingly talented person. She’s really focused, and she’s working really hard.”

Additionally he stated, “I feel like she’s just somebody who’s gonna have really good things coming soon.”

Glover’s brother and frequent collaborator Steven Glover is also in the writer’s room, and he too praised Obama.

“Donald always says perspective is important,” he said, “and people with different perspectives are important for a writer’s room.

“And for sure, she definitely has a unique perspective on everything. So we wanted to hear her stories and have her work with us. Listening to her stories and having her involved really gave us a lot of good ideas.”

He also joked that “we can’t be easy on her just because she’s the [former] president’s daughter.”

The show written by Malia Obama and Donald Glover was pitched in July of 2021. The new show, titled, Hive so far has 1 series and four episodes. The now 24-year-old joined teams with Donald Glover and Janine Nabers to write the series. Janine Nabers is best known for her work in 2019’s Watchmen where she worked as a supervisor producer. She’s also the executive producer for the Hive series.

The series characterizes a Beyonce like star. So, we’re expecting the main character to be very popular, yet hardworking. As well as extremely talented.

The Hive series adds on to Malia’s film resume. Something that she and the Obama family supported since her high school years.

In 2012, Michelle Obama told People that her daughter Malia Obama had “an interest in filmmaking.” To garner experience in the entertainment industry, PBS reported that Malia worked as a production assistant for CBS’s “Extant” in 2014. In 2015, she also interned with the HBO show “Girls.”

During her years at Harvard Malia Obama majored in Visual and Environmental Studies.

Harvards Arts Film and Visual Studies Department offers courses in theory and analysis of film, as well as hands-on technical classes where students learn how to use cameras and editing equipment
