US Marshals shoot, kill fugitive in LA
Federal officials shot and killed a fugitive near the Wilshire area of Los Angeles. A Homeland Security special agent was also injured.
The shooting happened around 11:20 a.m. according to the U.S. Marshals Service. Officials said that members of the Fugitive Task Force were doing surveillance on a man who had a warrant out for his arrest in Nebraska at a building in the 6300 block of W. Wilshire Boulevard.
Officials said they watched the man go in and out of the pharmacy on the ground floor of the building, and that’s when they approached him. Marshals said that’s when the man ran back toward the pharmacy and pulled a gun out of his waistband. That’s when a Deputy U.S. Marshal and a Homeland Security Investigations special agent shot at him.
Marshals said the man who was killed was facing charges of marijuana distribution and money laundering. Officials have not yet identified him.
