Carlos Alcarez vs. Alexander Zverev: Matchup, Odds
Alcaraz is essentially the co-favorite to win the U.S. Open (along with Novak Djokovic, who took down Taylor Fritz in yesterday’s quarterfinal match) and he’s the odds-on favorite in tonight’s match as well.
Zverev, meantime, is coming off an emphatic five-set win over Jannik Sinner, where he found his form despite being subjected to racist language from a spectator. The German star also holds a 3-2 advantage in head-to-head meetings, though he’ll be the underdog against Alcarez tonight.
The winner of the Alcarez vs. Zverev match will meet Russian Daniil Medvedev in the U.S. Open semifinals Friday. Medvedev took down compatriot Andrey Rublev in straight sets in Wednesday’s other quarterfinal match.
