Will Smith and Martin Lawrence sat down for an interview with The Breakfast Club to talk about Bad Boys 3.
In the interview Will Smith opened up about his relationship with Jada Pinkett Smith compared to her relationship Tupac. Charlamagne asked Will if he was ever jealous of the love Jada had for Tupac. With honesty, Will Smith replied “oh fuck yeah”.
Oh my God that was in the early days. That was a big regret for me to because I could never open up to interact with Pac. We had a little bit of a thing because they grew up together and they loved each other. Then come into that age where that was a possibility, and then Jada was with me. You know, so Pac had a little thing on that. But she just loved him, like he was the image of perfection but she was with The Fresh Prince. It was like I never could like, we were in the room a couple of times I couldn’t speak to him, you know. He wasn’t going to speak to me if I wasn’t going to speak to him”.
Charlamagne, “Really, but yal had so much in common”.
Will Smith continued to say, “That’s what Jada would say all the time. She was like I’m telling you, yal are so similar. You would love him. I just never, you know that was a huge regret. I couldn’t handle it”. Smith continued to say “I was this soft rapper from Philly and he was Pac. I was deeply, deeply insecure, and umm I just wasn’t man enough to handle that really”.
Will Smith posted the clip onto his Instagram with a caption saying, “I was so jealous of Pac that it kept me from ever even speaking to him. Insecurity is a vicious Dragon!
