English Premier League club, Chelsea, are reportedly confident about signing Belgium footballer, Romelu Lukaku, from Serie A champions, Inter Milan, by Sunday, August 8, 2021.
Reports sighted by African Entertainment on multiple UK media outlets revealed that Chelsea and Milan have been locked in discussions since Friday, August 6, 2021.
According to reports, Inter have demanded a cash-only deal for the 28-year-old.
However, Chelsea are reporyedly keen on a player exchange switch.
Reports further indicated that Inter Milan have previously refused an £85million offer from Chelsea which included Spain defender Marcos Alonso.
The Serie A side is demanding an amount of about £102m for Lukaku, reports say.
Lukaku has reportedly told Milan he wants to return to Chelsea.
Chelsea sold Lukaku to Everton for £28 million about seven years ago.
A report by Sky Sports revealed that Chelsea are willing to pay Inter Milan £93.25m (€110m) to re-sign Lukaku.
