Regina Hall and Sterling K Brown may have gotten delivered from the sin of not knowing who Crime Mob, Knuck if You Buck, but Honk for Jesus they know now.
The two sat down with Franceska Amiker during an E News interview for the new movie. Honk For Jesus will be in theaters on September 2nd.
The film details, a stay-at-home dad who finds himself with some “me time” for the first time in years while his wife and kids are away. He reconnects with his former best friend for a wild weekend that nearly upends his life,” describes the Me Time official logline.
During the interview with E, Franceska Amiker informed Regina Hall and Sterling K Brown that she attended the church in Atlanta where part of the filming took place.
“I’m from Atlanta,” she said. “House of Hope, that’s my church. I said I know you lying. All of that looked familiar to me. From the donuts they do in the parking lot, til the Project Pat song, to the Knuck if You Buck. Take me to the part where yal was like, I’ma gat totin’, pistol holdin’ Nigga on yo damn. Did you all already know this song, or did you have to memorize it?”
Brown continued, “they were like we gon do knuck. We were like, we gon do who? I was just listening to it, over and over.”
