A formal investigation into alleged attempted knife attack against Mali’s interim President, Assimi Goïta, has commenced.
There was recent alleged attempted attack on Mr Goita inside a mosque during Eid al-Adha festivities.
Malian prosecutor Bourama Kariba Konate is reported to have indicated that an inquiry been opened “to shed light on this event”.

The second coup in May 2021 ousted interim President Bah Ndaw.
