Meagan Good and Jonathan Majors dating may have began during a time of uncertainty and drama for the couple. A recent divorce and a major abuse accusation found two a space for love between two major, good stars. Get it!
Well anyway. The Matte Collection model and New York Time best selling author filed for divorce in 2021 after 9 years of marriage. They wrote, “After much prayer and consideration, we have decided to go into our futures separately but forever connected. We celebrate almost a decade of marriage together and a love that is eternal. There’s no one at fault, we believe this is the next best chapter in the evolution of our love,” in their December 2021 statement. “We are incredibly grateful for the life-changing years we’ve spent together as husband and wife. We are also extremely thankful to God for the testimony being created inside us both and for blessing our lives with each other.”
The Harlem star recently spoke to Essence, explaining how divorce was one of her biggest fears.
“It’s nothing that I would have ever chosen, and when I realized that it was happening, I was devastated,” said Good, 41. “I was like, ‘This is me, Lord. I did everything that I could do to the best of my ability.” She continued, “I don’t understand why I did all these things, and then this is my end result.'”
“That was rough because my biggest fear was what happened between my mom and my dad would happen to me, which is you’ve been with your husband for 10 years and you break up,” she said. “I would say, ‘I’m never getting divorced. I’m in it forever, good, bad, whatever it is, I’m never going to give up. You’re my person, I’m your person, that’s it.'”
The couples divorce was finalized a year later.
The following year, March 2023, Jonathan Majors was identified as the aggressor in a domestic violence incident, according to a report by the New York Police Department.
Video’s surfaced the internet of Majors and former partner Grace Jabbari scuffling from a vehicle. In the video Majors was spotted placing Jabbari in the vehicle as she clanged onto him. Eventually, she exited the vehicle while holding on to him. The Creed actor broke a lose and ran from the alleged victim.
Nevertheless, on December 18, 2023, a six-member jury found Majors guilty of two counts. reckless.
One count of assault in the third degree, a misdemeanor, and harassment in the second degree, a violation. He was found not guilty of two counts: intentional assault in the third degree and aggravated harassment in the second degree.
During the trial Meagan Good and Jonathan Majors dating rumors sparked. In May of 2023 the two had dinner at Red Lobster. The two held close to each other during The Essence fest. They took trips to Morocco. In June of 2023, Good and Majors held hands during his trial. They even double dated with Meagan Good’s sister La’Myia Good and brother in law Eric Bellinger.
Most recently, during the 2024 NAACP Awards Jonathan Majors opened up about their feeling for each other. His full sentence, “In Love”.
