Regina King Steps Out for The First Time Since Son Ian’s Passing

    Regina King is Back

On June 10th, Regina King stepped away from the spotlight since the passing of her son Ian. Needless to say, with much respect and support from fans everywhere. Even during the Met Gala fans paid tribute to her by sharing previous years collages. We understood.

But now Regina King seems ready to step out again. She attended a Hollywood event for the first time since early 2022.

The actress showed up to Santa Margherita di Pula, Italy for the Filming Italy Sardegna Festival. The event connects Italy’s entertainment industry to Hollywood. Held in the city of ROME, the Festival awards the best films with a certificate and trophy. The Festival was created to celebrate the art of filmmaking. As well as honor the filmmakers who make it all possible.

King sparkled on the red carpet. She sported a naturally beat face. King rocked her hair braided in a waist-length ponytail. She wore white semi-sheer two-piece gown paired with a Louis Vuitton monogram Petite Boite Chapeau Bag.

‘The Harder They Fall’ actress accepted the honor of the Film Italy Women Power Award alongside fellow honoree, Naomie Harris. The ladies smiled on the carpet and accepted their trophies at the ceremony.

In support fans hope this is her first step back to the limelight. Furthermore, the The Southland stars up and coming projects. The projects also include her working in front of and behind cameras. She currently directs episodes of the upcoming Jeff Bridges-helmed television limited series A Man in Full. As well as her second-ever feature film, graphic novel adaptation Bitter Root.

The actress and director also took on the role of legendary congresswoman and first Black presidential candidate. She’s set to play Shirley Chisholm in the upcoming biopic, Shirley. She went on to run for the 1972 Democratic nomination for the presidency—becoming the first major-party African-American candidate to do so. Chisholm passed in 2005. The biopic is reportedly in post-production.
