Superbowl 2022 is said to showcase a Tupac Hologram according to entert trending. This is a big deal for Tupac Shakur fans, as there was much sadness when he was gunned down in Las Vegas in 1996.
Plans have been made to allow the late rapper to perform alongside hip hop legends Dr Dre and Snoop Dog as a 3D image on stage.
It has been rumored that they may perform “California Love”.
This will not be the first Tupac Hologram done for a nostalgic, musical performance. The rapper was previously seen at the Coachella Music Festival in 2012, when Dre and Snoop were twin headliners of the three-day event. On April 15, 2012, on Dr. Dre and Snoop’s set, a shirtless figure emerged, with a “THUG LIFE” tattoo on his stomach, pinky rings on his hands, pants sagging and Timberlands on his feet. It was the perfect surprise for the final act of the night on the main stage — Dr. Dre and Snoop having already floated through nearly 20 tracks.
During that show he performed his posthumous 1998 single “Hail Mary” and 1996 hit collaboration with Snoop, “2 Of Amerikaz Most Wanted.” On this night, the “Tupac Hologram,” what many still call the virtual being, was born.
According to sources, it was created by Janelle Croshaw, visual effects supervisor of Academy Award-winning studio Digital Domain, and her team in just six weeks especially for the show.
Fans though that may have been the last chance to see the Tupac hologram perform.
“It was strictly for Coachella. Get it right,” Dre revealed to Rolling Stone magazine.
“I want to get rid of all the rumors out there. This was not done for a tour. If a tour happens, we’ll see.”
Nevertheless, fans may now get to enjoy another performance with Tupac Shakur during Superbowl 2022.
