Will Smith will be the first to admit he may have gotten a little carried away with the snacks, like most, during the start of the pandemic. Last May, the “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” star shocked fans after declaring himself in “the worst” shape of his life before showing off the more plump physique he’s been sporting.
However, instead of wisecracks and slick remarks, people were warm and welcomed the veteran actor and his “pandemic weight” with open arms. Since then, the “7 Pounds” talent has been linked up with his trainer Aaron Jon Ferguson, and has been spending lots of time in the gym, some of which the 53-year-old has often documented and shared with viewers on his Instagram account.
Over the weekend, the “Wild Wild West” star took to his social media platform once more where he showed off some of his intense workouts, looking much slimmer than he appeared earlier this year.
The short but highly energetic clip starts off with a young man asking viewers, “Are you in your bed right now?” before yelling “Get the f–k up!” The caption on the left hand corner read, “Sundays aren’t an excuse to rest.”
The next scene finds a startled Smith scrambling to get out of bed before a montage of the actor doing various exercises flash across the screen, which included lifting weights, doing routines to target the upper body and muscles.
The viral video, which was viewed over 7.3 million times and received over 751,000 likes from fans, ended with Smith running on a track field. Folks in the comments section championed the actor on his progress, including one person who wrote, “Will getting that I am legend body back!”
“I knew he was gon lose that weight,” claimed another person. “Stay fit man we all need you, we’ve lost alot,” said a third person, before adding, “ALOT of greats this past few years.”
Meanwhile, others found Smith’s transformation journey to be highly aspiring as shown by a fourth person who wrote, “Still moving 225 with that old man strength. Gives me something to look forward to.”
As previously reported, Smith’s transparency regarding his weight has encouraged other celebrities to be accepting of their pandemic-related weight gain as well, which ultimately resulted in the “Dad Bod” challenge. Actors Anthony Anderson, along with other celebrities, including Chris Spencer, Flex Alexander, and Marlon Wayans, all shared photos of themselves sporting nothing but black boxer briefs.
